What a Day.......

So, today was... an interesting day to say the least.  I went from class, where we worked on our websites, to work.  I didn't have to run any routes today, but it was still pretty busy with people picking up packages and more packages coming in.  The post office is getting full, people are ordering books and getting ready for this next semester; which reminds me, I need to get on top of ordering my books.  Anyway, after work, I grabbed a little lunch and then had to take a drum throne over to the high school, apparently the high school can't afford one, or is just taking advantage of the school.  Either way, it sort of upsets me, I am supposed to sit on that when I play the drums, now what do I get to set on??? A chair.  If it were up to me though, a rock-n-sock it would be. Those things are like heaven for your butt.  After running that over to the high school, I came back to campus, with just enough time to complete my website.  We have to present them tomorrow, which I would imagine means generally talking about what's on each page, and how it relates to the topic we chose in the beginning.  Anyway, its getting late and I should probably try to get a little sleep before I go to class in the morning.

'til tomorrow,

Yesterday was another forgotten day.  Meaning that I forgot to blog.  Anyway, today was an interesting day.  It began with going to class at nine.  I was a bit late, but it wasn't a bad class.  We took a couple of quizzes and worked a little more on my website.  It's supposed to be done by Thursday morning and we are supposed to present them, so I'm going to have to push it a little bit.  After class, I went to work for a while and then grabbed some lunch.  After lunch I went back to the dorm and worked some more on the website.  Later, I went and played some racquetball, which was fun, but I lost so now I'm out of the tournament that started last week.  Right after that happened, I ended up entering a ping pong tournament.  That was an interesting, and I lost, I didn't even place.  After I played ping pong, I worked some more on my website and then just chilled for a while.  Right now, while blogging, I am watching 'The Invention of Lying'.  Now I'm going to lay down and try to get some shut eye.

Peace,

Whoops..

So... today was interesting.  I didn't make it to class, i actually slept in.  I'd be lying if I would say I didn't enjoy the extra sleep.  I woke up around 11:30 and grabbed some lunch.  I played guitar for a while then went to work for several hours.  It was a little chilly today and the routes were somewhat cold.  This afternoon I listened to a bunch of music I hadn't heard in a while; I jammed out to Hawethorne Heights, My Chemical Romance and a few other bands.  Around five thirty, Hanz, Albano, Chris and I ate some dinner and chatted for a while.  After supper, I went to the varsity basketball games.  Graceland played Peru State.  Sadly, the woman's team lost by probably fifteen, the men however won their game by ten or fifteen.  Something crazy happened though.  When I first walked through the gymnasium doors, I signed up for a 'shoot out' thing.  At half time of the girls game my name was drawn and I stepped onto the court to attempt to win some prizes.  I shot the first shot, a free throw and... swoosh; I won a drink and candy bar.  The second, a three pointer and... swoosh; I won a Graceland University hat and thermal coffee mug. The third and final shot, a half court shot, was in attempt to win an iPad; I shot the ball and... I missed.  Of all the shots to miss, I miss the one for the iPad; I was a little disappointed.  Even without going to class today, I still seemed to have an interesting day.

Until tomorrow,

Worst Movie Ever...

So, today we did a few different things in class.  We began by looking at a few videos on youtube about the SOPA ordeal.  All day today, wikipedia was, for lack of a better term, on a 'lock out'.  It was interesting to see some of the interviews from both sides.  SOPA wants to dictate whether or not things can be streamed over the internet.  They are trying to get bit torrent web sites shut down because they are allowing people to download music for free.  They are trying to shut down sites that stream videos and television shows online.  I'm not going to lie, I watch movies online and not just on Netflix.  I found some of my favorite songs and downloaded them through a bit torrent site.  I think the whole, bit torrent / streaming regulation will bring internet numbers down.  Anyway, after class today I ate some lunch with Jacob and Hanz and went back to the dorms to do some homework.  A page on how the internet affects my life, an interesting topic.  It really made me sit and think about why I use the internet and how much school work I do online.  After that I grabbed some dinner with Hanz, Jacob and Brian and just hung out for a while.  I watched Cowboys and Aliens for the first time.  I just finished it and I must say, it's probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen.  Everything was so predictable, and the plot was just kinda weird.  Right now I'm chilling with Hanz watching G3: Live in Tokyo.  Three of the greatest guitarists in the world get together and play a few songs of their own and then come together at the end and have a killer jam session.  John Petrucci, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, need I say more?

Peace and Love ya'll,

Monday, 17th & Tuesday, 18th

Well, I missed yesterdays blog so heres a two for one. Monday in class we went looked at and researched a few websites. Which is pretty much the same thing we did today.  There were two websites that really caught my eye.  The first was kickstarter.com; a person can upload a video and let other people know what a project they are working on is.  If the person watching finds the project realistic or just awesome, that person can donate money. The money donated is then used to fund the persons project.  I could really see me getting into that sometime soon.  The second of the two websites is cafepress.com; if I understood the discussion in class, you can create your own t-shirt design or even buy ones that have already been created.  It sounded like a cheap way to get shirts that are personally designed.  After class I went to work in the post office for an hour or so then grabbed some lunch.  Later in the afternoon, I played some raquetball with Joe; it was a tournament game and I lost so now I'm in the losers bracket, SURPRISE! (a whole lot of sarcasm).  Anyway, some friends and I just got done watching G.I. Joe and now I'm off to bed.

Friday the 13th

Today was... okay. Could have been better, could have been worse.  Got to class a little late today, five minutes late but it didn't really matter.  In class we watched a video about the an author Ken Auletta.  He wrote "Googled: The End of the World as We Know It".  He talks about the creators of Google, how they started in a dorm room at Stanford, transferred to a garage and eventually created the biggest search engine on the web.  It was a pretty interesting video, I recommend looking it up if you are interested in anything web.  After the video, we worked on our websites.  I now have one page almost completely done and at least a template for the other 9 pages.  After class I headed off to work at the campus post office once again.  After running some routes and sorting some mail, I went back to my dorm room where we watched R.E.D., which is a great movie by the way.  Later this afternoon, Hanz, Chris and I checked out Hanz's car; he got a new headlight and we thought about putting it in, but with it being so chilly, we decided to hold off for a while. It's 6:13 and I think it's about time I take off, I'm headed home for the weekend.

Goodbye until Monday,
Peace.

Cold, Colder, Colderer

Today was a change of pace.  I left my window open last night and I woke up to a room as cold as the North Pole. It was all I could do to even get out of bed this morning. I got ready for class and made it just in time.  Today we went over a few things Google has hidden on their site; a few things that people may not know they have on their web site.  Things like music, a customized home page, scholar, books to buy, groups and calendars are available on Google and I didn't even know about them until today.  Another random fact I learned today; Youtube.com has movies available for rent that you can stream directly to your computer.  It's basically Red Box for your computer.  After we went over these things, we moved on to our websites we are required to create.  We must choose a site like weebly or yolasite and create a sub domain website.  The topic I chose is over the American Gothic by Grant Wood.  The further I do research the more it proves to be a difficult topic.  By the end of Winter Term, the site should look great though.  After class I went to work at the post office on campus for a while, then played some racket ball with Hanz and Chris.  While blogging tonight I'm listening to some Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.  They're a great band and you should check them out if you haven't already.

Until next time...
